Fact Check: Has ChatGPT Released Its Native Cryptocurrency Token?
The internet is buzzing with speculation about a ChatGPT cryptocurrency. But has ChatGPT released its native cryptocurrency token? The answer, as of today, is no. Be cautious of scams leveraging the ChatGPT name.
Scammers are trying to cash in on the hype surrounding popular artificial intelligence chatbots including OpenAI\'s ChatGPT and Microsoft\'s Bing AI. A search on cryptocurrency exchanges might reveal tokens using "ChatGPT" in their name, but these are almost certainly fraudulent.
Recently, Microsoft integrated OpenAI’s chatbot technology into its native Bing search engine. This was done to make it better at answering user queries. This integration, along with ChatGPT\'s general popularity, has created fertile ground for opportunistic crypto scammers.
Peckshield, a blockchain security company, announced in a tweet on Monday that it had discovered dozens of newly generated BingChatGPT tokens, of which 3 appeared to be honeypots and 2 were likely scams designed to steal users\' funds. This highlights the dangers of investing in unverified crypto projects riding on the coattails of AI trends.
It\'s important to differentiate between legitimate AI-related crypto projects and those simply exploiting the ChatGPT name. One example is Worldcoin: Its native coin WLD has kept a steady price between $2 and $2.50 since its launch on July 24, thus far spared the pump-and-dump trajectory of many new crypto tokens. However, Worldcoin is not directly affiliated with ChatGPT or OpenAI.
As of 10 de mar. de 2025, there is no official ChatGPT token. Always do your own research (DYOR) before investing in any cryptocurrency, and be extremely wary of projects promising quick riches based on AI hype. The official OpenAI channels would be the primary source for any news regarding a genuine ChatGPT token, should one ever be released.
